Book Jacket Summary

It's a typical Christmas Eve at the North Pole. That is, until Santa suddenly disappears! Luckily, his polar pals are on the case. But will the furry friends rescue dear old Santa before it's too late for him to make his special deliveries? Filled with Lisa Wheeler's festive rhymes and Ivan Bates's cozy illustrations, here is a rollicking Christmas adventure that little ones will want to hear over and over again.

My Thoughts

This is a lovely book! The illustrations are beautiful with artic animals rescuing Santa Claus. The white animals and white snow make an interesting contrast but Bates makes it work wonderfully. The bear, seal, fox, and rabbits are so adorable and the reindeer are the only colorful animal with a touch of brown. Bates uses rosy pinks and reds to make the day fade into night. I love the illustration of the animals lining up to pull Santa out of the snow! The story is sweet and I really love this picture book. Sit in your rocker and read this one to your child right away or use it in a story time! Highly recommend!

And is that a Collie or a Sheltie? I used to have a Sheltie, they're gorgeous. Love the breed.
