Book Jacket Summary

My Thoughts
I have read Cat's Cradle: The Golden Twine quite a few times now and cannot get enough of Rioux beautiful artwork! I saw this one on NetGalley and hoped that Kids Can Press would let me have a sneak peek! The cover is stunning with Suri trapped in a web of the magical golden twin with a spirit reaching out to her in a dark wood. Right up my graphic novel loving alley!
The story is quite a ride and Suri is a fun spunky orphan girl who wants to be a monster tamer in a world full of spirits and monsters. However, she does not really belong and is hidden from the wagon master by the merchants who love her. Suri does sneak in to see the large monster that has been captured and is awaiting the King to hunt it down. Instead it escapes and Suri chases after it while she is being chased by spirits called Caitsith because their golden twine fell into her possession. It is a fun romp and a wonderful look into this world. I cannot wait to find out what happens next!
I would recommend this one to those who love fantasy and graphic novels. If they like the Amulet series or Zita the Spacegirl than this one will captivate them!
