Book Jacket Summary
Kyle and Mia are determined to help their friend, Emma, find a pet that won't make her mom sneeze. But Emma doesn't want a pet she can't cuddle, and Kyle and Mia are running out of ideas. Will they ever come up with the perfect no-sneeze pet, or is Emma out of luck?

My Thoughts
Mia and Kyle help Emma find a pet that her mom won’t be allergic too. Kyle’s mom is a vet and makes a list of animals that Emma should look at- turtles, lizards, snakes, and iguanas. Unfortunately birds cannot be on the list because they have allergens in their feathers. They visit people who have different kinds of “no sneeze” pets and they finally come up with a solution! Emma is happy to have a pet to cuddle and play with every day.
This is a cute book that suggests you take your time when looking for a pet because sometimes a kid cannot get a traditional pet. When they visit Mrs. Milton who takes in birds that people no longer want they learn that taking in an animal is a big responsibility and should not be taken lightly. The illustrations are nice and some the animals that Emma considers. I especially like the iguana! This is a great book to read before adopting a pet. There are discussion questions that focus on the care and responsibility of animals and you can see some other animals than the typical cat and dog. The book includes a glossary with words like algae, sensitive, and allergic. They have a list of ways Emma will care for her new hamster and some writing prompts. All in all this is a cute book!
