Book Jacket Summary
Meet the Lotus Lane Girls!
Kiki, Coco, and Lulu are the BEST of friends. They even have their very own club! But Mika, the new girl, is shaking things up on Lotus Lane. This first book is written as Kiki's diary--with illustrations and doodles throughout. Kiki LOVES creating cool outfits, hanging out with friends, and collecting fun facts like these:

Fact: I am a member of the Lotus Lane Girls Club.

Fact: I will one day be a VERY famous fashion designer.

Fact: My new neighbor Mika is trouble--triple trouble!

Fact: Even chickens must look their best.

Read Kiki's diary to find out all about life on Lotus Lane!

My Thoughts
Things get a bit crazy for Kiki when a new girl, Mika, moves next door. She has the same idea for an art project that Kiki does and even uses the same fabric for the fashion designs. Will this be a new meanie next door or can these two actually be friends?
This is an adorable new series for young readers that has a little bit of everything. It is told in diary format with cross outs and doodles. It introduces us to our characters: Kiki, Lulu and Coco who are all best friends and part of the Lotus Lane Girls Club or LLGC for short. Kiki is gaga over fashion! Her mom is a fashion stylist and brings her items from all over the world like a beret from France. She also takes photos of different outfits she can wear and texts them to her friends for advice. What a modern touch for an older person like me! We were excited to have phones in our rooms, never mind a cell phone at that age! Kiki is really cute and gives definition for words like ciao, vintage, delish on the side of her diary.
I would recommend this one for younger readers who want in on The Dork Diaries but are still reading at a lower level. It is going to be a series and have different perspectives from each of the friends. Looks to be a cute series with a little bit of everything.
