Before They Find Us Cover Reveal

Before They Find Us

Cover Designed
by: Cathi Stevenson of Book Cover Express

Book Summary:

I’m going to make you wish you were dead.

Just a text.
Seventeen-year-old Rebecca Hales tries not to worry. Probably a wrong number.
Not really meant for her, and definitely not related to the crime she witnessed
six years ago. Right?

Then two states
away, a bomb goes off in her best friend's locker. Soon Ryan is labeled a
terrorist and runs to the safest place he knows—Rebecca’s house in small-town
Wyoming. It doesn’t take long for the FBI to show up asking questions. Rebecca
lies, of course, and says she hasn’t seen him.

Now she's
neck-deep in it with him, whatever "it" is. The only way out is to
return to Vegas, where Ryan is a wanted man. The city of lies and illusion puts
Rebecca’s small-town wits to the test as she struggles to find the person who
framed Ryan and why.

Is Rebecca’s
text linked to the bombing? And what does it have to do with a six year old
murder? Rebecca needs to find out before she loses Ryan—and her own life.

Synopsis
Hollie Porter is the chairwoman of Generation Disillusioned: at twenty-five years old, she’s saddled with a job she hates, a boyfriend who’s all wrong for her, and a vexing inability to say no. She’s already near her breaking point, so when one caller too many kicks the bucket during Hollie’s 911 shift, she cashes in the Sweethearts’ Spa & Stay gift certificate from her dad and heads to Revelation Cove, British Columbia. One caveat: she’s going solo. Any sweethearts will have to be found on site.

Hollie hopes to find her beloved otters in the wilds of the Great White North, but instead she’s providing comic relief for staff and guests alike. Even Concierge Ryan, a former NHL star with bad knees and broken dreams, can’t stop her from stumbling from one (mis)adventure to another. Just when Hollie starts to think that a change of venue doesn’t mean a change in circumstances, the island works its charm and she starts to think she might have found the rejuvenation she so desperately desires. But then an uninvited guest crashes the party, forcing her to step out of the discomfort zone where she dwells and save the day … and maybe even herself in the process.

About The Author:

Eliza Gordon is a forgetful girl who relies on Post-It notes and cellphone alarms to get her through the day. An avid eater of cookies, she can be found with her hand in the jar when not in her cubicle. A purveyor of fictions, Eliza is confident that the life she lives in merely the imaginings of someone else's hand, poured from a dull pencil on cafe napkins, and that she is simply an understudy, waiting for her turn to take the stage. She has excellent taste in books, shoes, and friends, and questionable sanity in the realm of love. Best leave that one alone.
In real life, she's a husband-and-wife team of controlled chaos who writes stories to help you believe in the Happily Ever After.

Danica and Kaylie Snow are about to celebrate the biggest day of their lives—their double wedding—on an island in the Bahamas. But no wedding is complete without a little family drama. The two sisters aren’t ready to face the father they haven’t seen since he divorced their mother and moved away to marry his mistress, and live with Lacy, the half sister they’ve never met.

While Danica has exchanged letters and phone calls with Lacy, Kaylie has fervently tried to pretend she doesn’t exist. Lacy is sweet, fun, and nearly a mirror image of Kaylie. To make matters worse, not only is Lacy looking forward to meeting her sisters, but she idolizes them, too. As the countdown to the wedding date ticks on, their parents are playing a devious game of revenge, and there’s a storm brewing over the island, threatening to cancel their perfect wedding. The sisters are about to find out if the bond of sisterhood really trumps all.

Francis, The Little Fox by Veronique Boisjoly

Francis, The Little Fox
By Veronique Boisjoly
Illustrated by Katty Maurey
Picture Book
Kids Can Press- NetGalley
September 2013

Book Jacket Summary
Francis the fox enjoys everything about his Saturdays at Mr. Li's Laundromat, except for Mr. Li's granddaughter, Lily. When Lily plays a dirty trick on Francis, it's up to the little fox to clean up and save the day.

My Thoughts
A cute little world where animals and humans are living together and wearing clothes but there is a pet cat. It is a Pluto and Goofy complex that no one can quite understand. Fox is getting used to going to the laundry mart when his parents have to downsize from a house to an apartment. Francis thinks it is a hardship at first but his father tries to make it entertaining as they think of fun things to do. It is a cute way to make a mundane task fun and a way to ease children into going to the laundry mart. There is an adventure to be had when Lily, a prankster, puts too much detergent in the machine to make bubbles and the cat gets scared. They race around looking for Mouse, the cat, and Francis saves the day. This is a very cute book with wonderful drawings that really catch the eye. Francis is extremely cute in his little suit and I adore his wary expression when looking around for Lily. I do wish that they had caught the cat in a different manner because the owner grabs Mouse by the tail. However, if you explain that that a child should never do this then it should not be a problem. Very cute!
